The impetus for meaningful improvement in organizational performance usually begins when top leadership recognizes the need for strategic change and espouses the underlying management principles and methods. To help facilitate this buy-in process for busy executives, in 1999 we established The Institute for Strategic Management Studies as one of three primary operating divisions of Hilton Consulting Corporation.

Mission
The mission of The Institute is to foster excellence in business and government leadership and decision-making through research and by sponsoring seminars and workshops in the disciplines, methods, and tools of strategic management. Our seminars and workshops are client-specific, tailored to the needs of top executives, middle managers, and reengineering and ABC teams who are in a position to make a pivotal difference in the strategic direction of their organizations.

Functions
The Institute for Strategic Management Studies collaborates with contributing authors, consultants, executives, and vendors to:

  • Conduct research in the disciplines, methods, and tools that enable better business decisions
  • Develop and sponsor Executive Seminars, Management Workshops, Leadership Strategy Sessions that both inspire management excellence and reinforce the principles and practices of strategic management
  • Write and compile business and educational articles, books, and a catalog of informative management literature for use by executives and managers
  • Provide objective analysis of organizational strategic plans, processes, and operations

The Institute also provides a forum for writing articles and white papers that reflect the practical lessons learned from actual experiences of contributing authors and their organizations or clients.
